RELATED: Beginner Tips For Orcs Must Die! 3
Robot Entertainment is one indie game developer that has created over 20 unique fantasy-inspired weapons throughout games in the Orcs Must Die! game series. But, with Orcs Must Die! 3, they decided to push their previous weapons to a whole new level. But, not all the weapons will help players earn Skulls, so players would do well in learning which ones to use and upgrade, so they can successfully defeat any orc that tries to enter The Rift.
7 Dwarven Warhammer
Acquisition:
Can be Bought with 5 Skulls
Fantasy fans will be happy to know that the Dwarven Warhammer is among the best physical heavy weapon in Orcs Must Die! 3 since it has a base attack of 60. And despite its slow swing speed, its secondary ability makes up for it since it causes the player to spin around in a whirlwind, dealing 12 damage per second for a short time.
The only downside of this weapon is that it consumes 20 Mana to use the secondary ability, so Heroes like Vorwick (that have low Mana pools) will not be able to use it too much. On the plus side, players can max the Dwarven Hammer to reduce the Mana cost to 14.
6 Magic Longbow
Acquisition:
Starts Unlocked
It comes as no surprise that ranged weapons dominate in Orcs Must Die! 3 since they allow players to defeat orcs from a safe distance, especially if they lay out plenty of Barricade traps or Deep Freeze traps to slow orcs down. The Magic Longbow is the ideal ranged weapon to use as it can clear groups of enemies with its secondary ability, Knockdown (shoots three arrows, each dealing 75 damage).
This long-ranged weapon can also penetrate through enemies meaning it will hit an additional enemy, clearing two enemies with one shot. But, the main reason why this weapon isn’t higher in this Orcs Must Die! 3 weapon tier list is that it takes 1.42 seconds to fire an arrow, which can be an issue while facing hordes of enemies.
5 Blunderbuss
Acquisition:
Starts Unlocked
The Blunderbuss is perhaps the most versatile weapon in Orcs Must Die! 3 as its secondary ability (Grenade) can switch between Explosive and Freeze type damage. The Explosive Grenade deals 50 damage and knockback enemies while the Freeze Grenade applies the Frozen status effect on orcs.

Unfortunately, the downside of using the Blunderbuss is that players will need to reload (which takes 15 seconds) every two shots. So, players will need to prioritize maxing this weapon with Skulls which shouldn’t be too tricky if players know how to get the maximum number of Skulls per run.
4 Scepter Of Domination
Acquisition:
Unlocks after Order Temple is Completed
Players that enjoy using magic in Orcs Must Die! 3 will enjoy using the Scepter of Domination since it has a base damage of 60 (once maxed). But, like other Staffs found in games like Elden Ring, players can charge an attack to cause a small AOE explosion dealing 20 damage.
While its base damage is the main reason it’s included in this tier list, its secondary ability is equally powerful since it charms enemies for six seconds, causing them to fight alongside the player. The best hero to use this weapon with is Cygnus or Egan, as they have the highest Mana pools in the game.
3 Crossbow
Acquisition:
Unlocks after Order Temple is Completed
One of the OG weapons from the Orcs Must Die! game series, the Crossbow remains a top-tier ranged weapon because of its high headshot multiplier and secondary ability that stuns enemies. But the Crossbow starts to shine after maxing it out since it gains several improvements.
For example, every headshot will trigger a small AOE explosion (causes 13 damage), and stunned enemies take increased damage (up to 15%). The downside of the Crossbow is that it’s difficult to land a headshot since players can’t change to first-person view, so console players will find it challenging to use, while PC players can do it without much of an issue.
2 Wind Belt
Acquisition:
Can be Bought with 5 Skulls
Players that want to feel like they are Storm from the X-Men will want to use the Wind Belt since it gives them the power to control the wind. But, the main advantage of using this weapon (and why it’s second on this ranked list) is that players can push enemies away from them or toward traps.

But, Robot Entertainment didn’t stop there since they gave this unique weapon a powerful secondary ability that allows players to pick up and throw light or heavy enemies (similar to some Spells players can use in Rogue Legacy 2). As players can expect, though, the Wind Belt is Mana hungry, so players will need to use Heroes with high Mana Pools and Trinkets that increase Mana Regeneration.
1 Arcane Staff
Acquisition:
Can be Bought with 5 Skulls
Undoubtedly, the best weapon in Orcs Must Die! 3 is the Arcane Staff since it can wipe hordes of enemies with its secondary ability and deals high single-target damage. The Arcane Staff’s secondary ability (Magicked) drops an orb on the floor that releases 20 magic-type bolts that seek enemies, causing 20 damage per hit.
The best part is that players can drop several orbs simultaneously (if they have enough Mana) to clear entire waves of enemies before they even get a chance to get near The Rift. Moreover, its primary attack has a .6-second cooldown, essentially allowing players to dish out a massive amount of damage in a short period.
Orcs Must Die! 3 is available now on Xbox One/ Series X/ Series S, Playstation 4/5, Google Stadia, and Microsoft Windows.
