Taggart went 2-10 with the Bulls in his first season in 2013, but slowly built the program into an American Athletic Conference power, culminating with a 10-2 record this season. He has a 24-25 record in four seasons with USF.
“I certainly think he’s a good fit,” former Colts coach Tony Dungy said, whose son played under him for one season at USF. “I liked his style. I think he’s a guy that can relate to the players very well.”

As for Hasin, he’s 31-8 in three seasons at Boise State, including a Fiesta Bowl win in 2014. If Hasin were to land the Oregon job, he would be the second Broncos coach to leave the program for the Pac-12, following the lead of Washington coach Chris Petersen.
A popular choice for the Oregon coaching position is Western Michigan’s P.J. Fleck, who has been connected to several high-profile positions. Regardless, Taggart and Hasin are just the first in what’s expected to be an extensive search — including several names from the college and professional levels.
